Before the "autopact" of late 1964 that caused all the domestic manufacturers to make cutbacks which led to the use of cheaper materials ( particularily limited use of stainless steel ) in order to reduce costs. Designed and built after the "busy" styling of the late 50's/early 60's, but before the larger/heavier cars from 1965 + up. It was also the year for the strongest performing Canadian model vehicle ever built... as well as Pontiac's fastest convertible ( shown here ), which was available with the most powerful regular production 409 engine that Chevrolet ever made ( the 400/425 horsepower model built between November 20, 1963 and the end of the model year )... the "SUPER FLAME" V8
